What is an air line lubricator?
Most pneumatic tools require lubricated air to maintain their function over time. Air line lubricators introduce a metered amount of oil to the air to provide the necessary oil film to extend tool life and keep them operating with consistent performance, such as constant torque in impact wrenches. Most lubricators have a “fog” design and are to be located as close as practical to the tool before the fog dissipates and the oil collects in the line rather than in the tool. Because they are usually located near the tool, most lubricators are sized 1/8” to 1” NPT although they are available up to 2” NPT.
